Other Community Legislation relevant to Toy Safety

Other Community legislation that is relevant to toy safety, apart from the more specific toy safety legislation, includes the General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) 2001/95, which applies in a complementary manner to specific sectoral legislation.

The Commission has drafted a guide to the practical application of the GPSD in areas where specific sector legislation exists. This guidance document (first chapter) provides guidance on the application of the GPSD for toys.
