TIE is aware that the most valuable and practical contributions its members can make towards the shared objective of toy safety include sharing their expertise, providing education, and helping to enhance enforcement efforts. In this context, TIE has invited the European Commission to participate in a Roadshow on the new Toy Safety Directive. This Roadshow aims to present, broadcast and explain the requirements of the new Directive to SMEs, importers and all economic operators in the EU toy sector. The Roadshows are co-organised by TIE and the relevant national association.
Each Roadshow provides an overview of the new requirements and detailed information on the obligations of the manufacturers, the importers and the distributors.
The TIE Roadshow began with a kick-off meeting in Paris on 22 October 2009. The following events took place in London (17 November 2009), Milan (19 November 2009), Madrid (25 March 2010), Poland (15 April) and Denmark (18-19 May). All events have proven to be a successful way of gathering toy industry representatives and EC officials together to disseminate information and answer questions related to the new Directive.
Further Roadshows are planned for 2010 and the dates will be posted here as soon as they are available.
